Getting Started / Servers

Servers

Pair with as many servers as you like. Only one is ever active at a time, and that's the one everything else reads from.

Pairing

There's no manual "add server" form. Pairing happens the same way it would for the official Rust+ app: pair with a server from in-game (Menu → Rust+) once, and Rustomat picks it up automatically the next time it hears from that pairing. See Quickstart for the one-time step that lets Rustomat receive pairing notifications at all.

The active server

Everything live is scoped to whichever server is currently active: map data, your teammate roster, device state updates, automation triggers, and vending/storage tracking. Switching servers tears down the previous one's live tracking automatically, nothing from the old server keeps running in the background once you've moved on.

Switching

The Servers tab lists every server you've paired with (name, address, and time played), with the active one highlighted and everything else showing a Switch button. It's reachable from the Dashboard's Servers tab in Basic mode, or from Settings → General's quick-launch buttons in Advanced mode.

Auto-switch behavior

Two related settings live in Settings → Connection:

  • Auto-switch to freshly-paired server (on by default): pairing with a new server in-game immediately makes it the active one, no manual switch needed.
  • Auto-detect which server I'm playing on (off by default): on connect, checks every paired server's team roster for you specifically online, and activates whichever one finds you, instead of just picking the most recently used server. Worth turning on once you're regularly bouncing between more than one server.
