Terms of Service
Last updated: September 15, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Rustomat (the "Service," "we," "us," "our"). By creating an account, downloading the overlay, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. Rustomat is independently developed and operated; for any legal, support, or data-related contact, reach us at admin@rustomat.net (see Section 12).
1. What Rustomat Is
Rustomat is a companion overlay application, website, and Discord integration for the game Rust. It connects to your Rust+ pairing through the same official Rust+ API the Facepunch companion app uses, and displays that information on your screen along with device control, automation, and related features. Rustomat does not read, modify, or inject into the Rust game process in any way, and does not provide any capability that isn't already available through the official Rust+ program.
Rustomat is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Facepunch Studios. Rust is a trademark of Facepunch Studios. Steam, Discord, and any other third-party service referenced here belong to their respective owners.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service, and you must meet whatever age and account requirements Valve/Steam and Facepunch impose for playing Rust itself. If you're using the Service on behalf of a minor, you're representing that you have the legal authority to agree to these Terms for them.
3. Your Account
You're responsible for keeping your password, API key, and any linked Rust+ pairing credentials confidential. Anything that happens under your account is your responsibility, whether or not you personally did it, unless it's the result of a security failure on our end. One account per person, don't share logins or API keys, and don't create additional accounts to get around a suspension, ban, or the Free-tier limits.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any way that would violate Rust's own rules, Facepunch's Rust+ program terms, or Valve's Steam Subscriber Agreement, including using it to cheat, exploit, or gain any advantage not available through the official Rust+ app.
- Attempt to bypass Free/Power tier restrictions other than through a legitimate upgrade.
- Attempt to access another user's account, data, or pairing credentials without authorization.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the overlay client, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits this despite the restriction.
- Abuse coupon codes, attempt payment fraud, or file a chargeback for a purchase you actually received without contacting us first to resolve it.
- Send an abnormal volume of requests at the Service with the intent of degrading it for other users, or otherwise attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to our infrastructure.
- Use the Service, our Discord community, or any linked automation feature (e.g. Discord webhooks) to harass, threaten, or send illegal content to anyone.
See also our Rules page for the more practical, day-to-day version of this section.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
Every account starts on the Free tier at no cost. The Power tier is a paid upgrade, currently available via coupon code or by arranging a trade (e.g. Rust/CS2 skins) through our Discord -- see the FAQ for current payment methods, which may change over time as the Service grows.
Purchases are generally non-refundable. That said, we handle this on a case-by-case basis, if you bought the wrong thing, were charged in error, or have some other genuine issue, contact us and we'll work it out. This isn't a substitute for consumer-protection rights you may have under your local law, which these Terms don't override.
We can change pricing, payment methods, or what's included in each tier at any time; changes won't retroactively take away something you already paid for during its active period.
6. Service Availability
We aim to keep the Service running reliably, but we don't guarantee it'll be available at any particular time, free of bugs, or uninterrupted. We may perform maintenance, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service (including features you rely on) at our discretion, with notice where reasonably practical.
7. Termination
We may suspend, mute, or terminate your account for violating these Terms, the Rules, or for conduct we reasonably believe is harmful to the Service or other users, examples of the actual mechanisms this can take are a temporary or permanent ban, a communication mute, or full account disablement. Where practical, we'll tell you why. You can stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time, see our Privacy Policy for how that works.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or in-game items/progress, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or [amount, e.g. $50] if you haven't paid us anything. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited in your jurisdiction (e.g. for gross negligence or willful misconduct, where applicable).
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and make a reasonable effort to let active users know (e.g. via the site or our Discord). Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer in the EU or elsewhere with mandatory local consumer-protection laws, those laws still apply to you regardless of this clause.
