Getting Started / Dashboard Overview

Dashboard Overview

The in-overlay dashboard is split into a handful of focused tabs, each reading from whichever server you currently have active.

Basic vs. Advanced mode

Most people never leave Basic mode: the dashboard below covers everything you need for straightforward automations, device control, and monitoring. Advanced mode steps out into a full node-graph editor with every trigger/condition/action Rustomat has, for when Basic's guided flow isn't enough. You can switch between them any time; nothing you build in Basic mode is hidden from Advanced, it's the same underlying automation graph, just two different views over it.

The tabs

  • Overview: connection status, active server, population, and latency at a glance.
  • Devices: every Smart Switch, Smart Alarm, and Storage Monitor you've placed, with live state and one-click toggles. See Smart Devices.
  • Automations: build and manage When/If/Do rules. See Automations.
  • Servers: every server you've paired with, and a switch to make one active. See Servers.
  • Vending: sell-order and sale-history tracking for your vending machines. See Vending Tracking.
  • Account: connection status, a link into the login screen, your Rust+ API usage and playtime, and where you link pairing credentials. Your plan and coupon redemption live on the website's own Account page, not in this tab.
  • Settings: HUD appearance, hotkeys, notification style, and the rest of the overlay's look-and-feel. See Settings & Hotkeys.

The live map isn't a tab of its own, it's part of the always-on HUD instead. See Map for how it works.
